“Night Walk”: Dear April…

We are only a few days away from our annual, month-long meeting. 

We’ve had some pretty good times over the years, haven’t we? There was 2013, where I got to watch Louisville win the college basketball National Championship, with some of my best friends at Champs. There was last year’s “African American Student of Excellence” Awards Ceremony – that was awesome! Annual WrestleMania watch parties with members of the FU5 – now combined with “The Walking Dead” season finales – for the last 8 or 9 years. The first Thunder Over Louisville that I saw from Eva Bandman Park (I think that was 2012) and the first Thunder that I saw, post-surgery in 2010: good times, great friends, and some serious air craft and firework displays!

This year, I hope you bring along some more really fun, great, and memorable moments when you show up, starting with WrestleMania on Sunday. I apologize if I appear to be running on fumes, at times – I am. Combine that with working weekend overnights – not the smartest choice in shifts I’ve ever made, but the money and experiences have been worth it – and a few day’s worth of breaks would be appreciated.  Let’s also end a couple of streaks while you’re here, too. 

Do you know if either March or May has a “Grades Recharger Kit” from 2016? I may need to borrow one, just to be certain that there’s enough power to get to May 7th and the start of Finals. 

I’m looking forward to your visit! Warm weather, the start of the Derby Festival, the beginning of the end of the semester, the start of the baseball season… let’s have some much-needed fun!
