On Saturday (6/7), I will perform with a small ensemble at the Southern Indiana Pride Festival. I am a Straight guy, so “why perform there?” My answer: “Why not?” I have quite a few friends that are part of the LGBTQ+ Community. I strongly believe in the notion that you can like/love/do whoever you want, especially since it isn’t hurting anyone. And, I get to play (and sometimes march) music. I think that’s a cool trio to have.
2 weeks later, I will perform with the Kentuckiana Marching Pride (KMP) at the Kentuckiana Pride Parade. KMP is a community marching band that caters to the LGBTQ+ Community, but is open to everyone. This will be my 3rd time marching (2022, 2024, 2025), if my lingering foot issues hold off until then. It is a fun, loud parade, even if it is about 1.5 miles.
Job Hunt: it is not going well. I’ve applied to another 3 places in the last 3-4 months but have not had any responses, yet. My personal ‘planted flag’ is that the next job I take will be the start of a career, not another “job”. I don’t want another job, with little-to-no chances of advancement or variety, unless the pay is much better than my current jobs (yes, 2). I haven’t given up…. but the search is on hiatus, until further notice.
Trump vs. Musk… this soon. Didn’t have that on my 2025 Bingo card.
‘Long Days, Pleasant Nights’ is a farewell saying from Stephen King’s The Dark Tower series. I like it also because it means that it’s late spring/summer/early fall – it’s warm and it is daylight when I get to work. I like the sounds of summer insects at night, and those big-time thunderstorms that sometimes hit the Louisville area. I don’t sit out on the porch at night as much as I used to, because I have to get up so early for work, but I will start doing it again on weekend nights, soon.
The Streak: approaching 13 years.
“Shakespeare in the Park” is a free event that happens in Louisville’s Central Park, during the summer. There are usually 3-4 plays performed night, on rotation, until late August. Food trucks and kids’ times were added in the last few years, due to the growing popularity of the event.

I really enjoyed the times I went, especially when I lived a block away from Central Park. If you are in the area, go check it out!
