Short Circuits: 45th Trip

It’s Saturday, July 29th, and my 45th birthday! I got free earlier than expected, so we’ll see what (if anything) happens the rest of the night…

GenCon is right around the corner! It is a 4-day gaming convention in Indianapolis. It features table top RPGs, board games, card games, and dice games, plus some arcade and pinball games, art work, and purchasing abilities. People can playtest games, host their own game plays (in a gigantic play area, full of tables), watch demos and seminars, and try everything from painting miniature figures to drawing to crocheting bags. I can’t wait – our group is leaving on Thursday!

I finished the main campaign on Diablo IV, and have started Season 1, where a new plot line has begun. Despite a Game Patch that got some… “bad” reviews, I’ve had a blast on this game. MANY more hours will be put in soon, including getting my main character to Level 50 and beyond.

There is a 64-team basketball tournament held every year, for semi-pro and former NBA players, called The Basketball Tournament (TBT). Former Louisville players formed a team called ‘The Ville’ for this year’s tourney. They hosted a regional and made it to the round of 16, before losing on a 3 point shot, 64-62. Despite the loss, I haven’t seen or felt this much hype over a Men’s basketball team in at least 5 years! I seriously hope that this year’s UofL team can provide the same amount of excitement and game play.

The Streak is closing in on 12 years. Ugh.

My car is finally running again – thanks to my little brother! It made the trip between Louisville and Dayton, Ohio, last weekend, so that was good. I don’t know when I’m going to go take my Driver’s Test but I hope to be legally driving by the end of August.

I’m making progress with physical therapy on my feet. I had 4 additional weekly sessions added; other than the balls of both feet, my feet are in decentish shape!

    1. Hey! GenCon was fun!! It was super packed, and there was a lot of walking, but I enjoyed it! Everything from seminars to game demos to non-game artists were there. I did get some pictures – I’ll have to share them with you!
Answering your post on my other post: I’m just slow. 😉 I hadn’t checked WordPress in a couple of months and Jetpack didn’t send me any alerts. We can talk about nearly anything and everything, starting with your exploration of Louisville! We can talk on here, on FB, email, or text. We can also meet in person – whatever you are good with. 😉
