‘Night Walks’: Spooky Season

Diablo IV Season 10 launches next Tuesday. I have to admit: as repetitive as D4 has been, Season 9 was very fun. I’m still waiting on the announcement of a new DLC – maybe the return of the Prime Evils? – but until then, I will at least give Season 10 a try. On other gaming fronts:
– I am still stuck on the Final Boss of Doom (2016). I realized a few days ago that I don’t have enough weapon upgrades or abilities from Rune Trials, so I have started a new campaign. The plan is to be much more thorough in searching out Secrets, Field Drones (to get armor and weapon upgrades), and Rune Trial Stones. Hopefully, I can finish this campaign in the next 2-3 weeks.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is on a slight pause, as I work on other games. I will play it, here and there, in short bursts.
– I have also restarted Elden Ring, although it’s more to get used to the controls and game flow again (I play with keyboard bindings and mouse bindings). I still have my Samurai (Level 39) and Mage (Level 39) builds – they are in different areas of the game world – but I now have a Level 11 character that might end up as a tanky Templar/Paladin. Elden Ring is such a fun game but it can be very frustrating, especially fighting mini bosses and bosses.
– I downloaded Destiny 2 (for free on Steam) and bought a 7-pack of DLCs for $14.85 total. So far, it’s been a fun, interesting MMORPG. I am still in the Tutorial Phase; we’ll see how things work out, once I get into “the big universe”.
-While very tempting with the new expansion pack coming out, I’m not going to return to World of Warcraft… yet. I want to finish Doom and possibly Baldur’s Gate 3 before I make any decision on WoW.

I am in need of a raucous party, esp. a Halloween party! I don’t mean one where police are called because of the noise, or where all kinds of… ‘shady’ things are happening. But if I get an invite to one where there’s good food, good drinks (non-alcoholic or alcoholic), and people are having fun, then I’m in.

I am getting together a potential movie list for October. This year, similar to last year, I plan on watching Horror Movies that I have either only seen once or not at all. I may look more into the 1908s and 1990s, but any year between 1975 and now are fair game. I want to watch at least 20 movies in October; it’s not realistic for me to say “one movie a day” because work (two jobs), a possible wedding, a possible Alumni Marching Band performance (which would end up being a 7-10 hour day), and other odds and ends could make movie-watching impossible on those days. I generally enjoy these movie Octobers – I hope those on FB enjoy following what I watch (or, some come and watch them me!).

Louisville hosted Bourbon and Beyond, last weekend; this weekend, we are hosting Louder Than Life, one of the biggest music festivals in the country. Over 4 days, something like 130 bands and acts will perform on multiple stages. It’s loud enough that I can hear some of it from my apartment, a little under a mile away. Watching the traffic for it today was interesting lol. Thankfully, I’m off on Saturday and Sunday from that job.

If you don’t post on social media much, or you hide on a politically-slanted social media site for months, then suddenly start posting political stuff on Facebook and/or IG (especially BS from the right, the last 2 weeks), your credibility drops to zero.
There’s my political post for the season. 😉

Still stand by earlier statements:
If you are on Tinder for “serious long-term relationships”, that’s a ‘you problem’.
Bumble is almost as useless as Tinder, due to all of the bots/fake profiles and the absolute judgement of those NOT looking to get married.

There are a bunch of Ghost/Horror Stories podcasts that my sister has turned me on to, including As The Ravens Dream and Just Creepy: Scary Stories. Real Life Ghost Stories is another that I have listened to for years; all of these podcasts have provided hundreds of hours of entertainment (and some pretty good scares!), especially during work and late at night. Here’s to more frights throughout the rest of September and especially October.

Have a good night and weekend!
