(Maybe ‘Night Swim’ is a more appropriate title, as Louisville is recovering from the biggest flood since 1997, less than a week after the strongest tornado in nearly 30 years to hit the area)
The good news is that a long-lingering bill is in the process of getting paid off, via a payment plan. The bad news is that nearly all of the extra money that I’ve made (and will likely make) at my second job is now gone. This also likely kills my plan to go to GenCon 2025. I’ll give things another couple of weeks to shake out before finalizing plans with the group I was going to go with. This also ends the hopes of going to the Indianapolis 500 race on the Sunday before Memorial Day. Two steps forward, two steps back….
I am finally back to listening to/watching two D&D podcasts that, until March, I hadn’t touched in over a year: “Dungeons of Drakkenheim” (which I just finished Season 1) and “Black Dice Society” (which I am about halfway through Season 2, their final season (I think)). It’s a nice distraction, especially at work.
This has been the longest bout of Plantar Fasciitis (right foot) and tendon stiffness (both feet) I have had in a number of years. It makes it very hard to get comfortable at night or very early in the morning. There’s not a ton of pain (good!), just major-league discomfort.
Wishing good luck to the Cincinnati Tradition Drum & Bugle Corps, as they are in the midst of ‘Spring Training’ for the defense of their All-Age Open Class World Championship!
I am going to attempt to get out of the apartment more, even if it’s on my own. A Minor League baseball game or two would be a good start…. 😉
