“Night Walks”: Some Quick Hits

(No particular song list, this time)

Beating a tricky puzzle puzzle, mini boss, or boss always has brought a high level mixture of satisfaction and relief. Finally beating a Boss in ‘Elden Ring’ multiplies that level by 5. FINALLY beat Godrick in Stormveil Castle with my Paladin-esque character! Now, to get through Raya Lucaria Academy….

Diablo 4’s “Season of the Witch” is, so far, entertaining. I like the few powers that I’ve unlocked. I’m only 2 days into it, though. I’m hoping that it’s not as… ‘grindy’ as the last couple of seasons have felt.

I am looking forward to the Cincinnati Reds’ upcoming season. They look like they finally have a Playoff roster. Let’s hope that their pitching staff is as good as their field roster looks.

Not a lot of excitement on vacation, so far. I did go to Team Trivia night on Wednesday, for the first time since September or October. We lost a tie-breaker for 3rd place (out of 11 teams); despite that, it was a fun time. I have always enjoyed academic competitions; I played Quick Recall and Governor’s Cup in middle and high schools; add music, food/drink (sometimes), and a really good host, and you can see why a Trivia Night is appealing to me.
Other than that, I’ve worked a few hours on my second job (I know, “I’m supposed to be on break!”), finished one book, working on finishing another book (hopefully by Sunday night), and possibly celebrating my sister’s birthday this weekend (it was on the 26th). Add in a few short walks, for required out-of-the-apartment time.

Waking up at 2 AM Wednesday, and not falling back to sleep until well after 6 AM, sucks.

I should get my $1 Tax Refund some time in the next 2 weeks.

I keep wavering on going to GenCon this year. IF I go, I’ll buy a 4-day pass, even if I don’t go for all 4; it’s only $15 more for a 4-day pass versus a Friday-Saturday pass. My issues are money and time. I plan on being in Indianapolis the following weekend, also (Drum Corps World Championships), and maybe on Labor Day Weekend (NHRA U.S. Nationals), and that is going to be an expensive 4-week period. That’s assuming I can make enough on Job #2 to spend on each of those weekends. I won’t make a firm GenCon commitment before early April. Hotel pricing locks in in late May.

Let’s see if ‘the streak’ hits 15 years. I’m slightly morbidly curious.
