Night Walks: “Good or Nice?”

“Night Walks” were posts that I wrote… at night: I couldn’t sleep, I was working 3rd Shift, I got home late, etc. They usually weren’t too in-depth; just writing down random thoughts, as if I was strolling around the neighborhood, thinking to myself. I’ll have to double-check but I think it’s been 4 years since I took a ‘Night Walk’.

This ‘Night Walk’ is happening because I’m off from both jobs – yes, multiple! – on Monday, for a Heart Echo.

I picked up a second job, about 3 weeks ago! I am an Online Data Analyst – AI for Telus International. I basically check various results from web searches (such as words, pictures, people, music, and movies) for accuracy, tone, grammar/spelling, and relevance. It’s a Remote job, with no set hours (although I’m trying to keep to a partial schedule). So far, I like it – it’s not a main source of income, but it will be a nice additional income.

While I have a new 2nd job, I have a weird form of ‘burnout’ going with my 1st. I like the job, I like my teammates, and I like my bosses. I’m just tired of the job itself. I took a week and a half off, a couple of months ago, to recharge, but it only worked for a few weeks. Not sure how to fix this….

The post title – “Good or Nice?” – was in reference to a MUCH longer post that I was going to write. Seeing that it’s already 10:30 PM EST, I’ll table it for another day. In essence, ‘Nice Guys’ are now somehow a bad thing and ‘being Good’ seems to get you overlooked/ignored.

I finished the DLC main quest for Diablo IV. I played as the new Class, the Spiritborn; despite some early struggles with damage output and dying, I really enjoyed it. The main plot was simple but effective: save Neyrelle from Mephisto. There was a nice twist at the end, also (WON’T SPOIL IT!!!). I’m going to work on some of the Seasonal content, on a couple of other characters, over the next 2-3 weeks.

Despite a faint glimmer of hope earlier in the year, ‘the streak’ is closing in on 13 years. “Good or Nice?” probably ties into that, too.

I’m somewhere between 216 and 220 pounds. I need to tighten my diet back up, plus get active again. I would like to be back at the 201-205 range.

My Horror Movie Month on Facebook was a success! I watched some pretty good and scary movies throughout October, with only a very small amount of duds in there. “Oddity”, “Exhuma”, and (surprisingly) the 1959 version of “The House on Haunted Hill” were 3 of the best.

Well, I’m starting to get sleepy. Time to bring this ‘Night Walk’ back home, so to speak.
